UK Startup

Advertising & Referral Disclosure

How UK Startup earns revenue — and what that means for you

UK Startup is free to use. We earn revenue through a small number of referral partnerships with UK business service providers. This page discloses every active commercial relationship, explains how referral fees work, and confirms that these relationships do not influence our editorial content.

Section 01

How referral fees work

When a reader uses a referral code or link from UK Startup to sign up for a partner product, the partner pays UK Startup a referral fee. This fee is paid by the partner — not by the reader. The price, offer and terms available to the reader are identical to those available without the referral code.

Referral fees help fund the editorial work that keeps UK Startup free. They do not create any obligation on our part to recommend, favour or positively review a partner's product. Our editorial team produces content independently of commercial relationships — see our editorial policy for details.

Section 03

What we do not do

To be explicit about the limits of our commercial relationships:

  • We do not accept payment to publish positive reviews or to exclude negative information about a partner.
  • We do not allow partners to review, approve or request changes to editorial content before or after publication.
  • We do not rank or recommend products based on the size of the referral fee.
  • We do not use hidden affiliate links. Every referral relationship is disclosed on the relevant page.
  • We do not accept sponsored content that is presented as independent editorial.

Section 04

Future partnerships

If UK Startup enters into new referral or advertising relationships in the future, they will be disclosed on this page and on any page where the partner's product is mentioned. This page is updated whenever a new commercial relationship begins or an existing one ends.

This disclosure page was last reviewed in May 2026.
